This is the most common type of work permit, granted for a specific period of time to work at a particular workplace or business.

What is a Temporary Work Permit?

  • A temporary work permit is granted for a maximum of one year to work in a specific workplace or profession, depending on the situation in the labor market, sectoral developments, and employment conditions.
  • Important: If employment continues with the same employer, the extension can be granted for a maximum of 2 years in the first extension, and a maximum of 3 years in subsequent extensions.

Application Methods

Application from Abroad

The foreign national applies to the Turkish Consulate in their own country. Using the 16-digit reference number provided, the employer in Türkiye submits the application to the Ministry.

Application from within Turkey

For foreigners with a residence permit valid for at least 6 months, employers can apply directly through the Ministry's system.
